Dr. Lakhi attended University of Manitoba in Winnipeg for his undergraduate medical training. After completing his MD degree, he pursued further residency training in General Internal Medicine through University of British Columbia.
He developed an interest in Hematology through his exposure to molecular biology and research in indolent chronic lymphocytic leukemia. This led him to pursue training at the St. Paul’s Hospital Thrombosis Clinic and there he developed a further interest in benign Hematology.
Currently, Dr. Lakhi is a certified General Internist with a wide scope of practice. His practice interests include non-malignant hematology including thrombosis, managing anticoagulation issues as well as peri-operative medicine.
In the future, Dr. Lakhi plans to expand his research interests into the realm of anticoagulation use in the community.
