Dr. Ritu Kumar, MD, FRCPC
General Internal Medicine Specialist
Dr. Kumar is a certified General Internist. She completed her undergraduate medical training and General Internal Medicine residency training at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Kumar’s undergraduate education in physiology and pharmacology led to a keen interest in Endocrinology. She cultivated this interest throughout her residency training and has integrated it into her practice.
Along with General Internal Medicine, Dr. Kumar’s scope of practice includes global management of diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, osteoporosis along with primary and secondary cardiac prevention.
Dr. Kumar has participated in many medical advocacy and community medical education talks. She also has a particular interest in community health advocacy for the South Asian community.
In the future, Dr. Kumar plans to participate in medical education and work with trainees. She also plans to continue her involvement in community health advocacy and expand beyond the South Asian Community.
